Eh, IMO, caps aren't a big deal, since they can be replaced for under 5 bucks.

My advice is this as far as returning the lens goes - play with the K version for a day or two, and if it satisfies you, try to get the seller to come down in price. If he won't, then return it and get another K for less. $500 is about the ceiling for a dead mint version of this lens. With some wear, look to pay closer to $400. There are a few on eBay at If you like it, but think an A would do better, go for that, but most these days are listed at $600+ ( a quick check at ebay shows the lowest currently listed at $649 + $40 shipping from Japan.

Alternately, there is a Porst/Cosina 55mm f/1.2 (possibly a Tomioka) currently at $230 with 3 hours left here. This one ships form Ukraine, though, so Caveat Emptor.
I suppose I am being a bit particular about the cap. I believe you are correct about current policy, in general, about selling things as they are received. It just seems a bit ridiculous to ship a lens without both caps. "To be thus, is one thing; but to be safely thus..........."

I bought last fall K 1.2 with 250usd, in good condition (with both caps ), on eBay. The Porst lens has black anodized mount with some problems on using with flagship cameras (k7, k5, k3). Rendering is also different.

That seller has a very good feedback score, what is the concern specifically? I rarely have purchased from overseas on eBay.

Less the seller than the problems with Eastern European postal services (and in a country that is still effectively at war) , potential added customs fees, etc. etc.
Got it. Thanks.

Well, I figure the story deserves a conclusion.

After a couple of Emails, I was able to get a $125 credit. I am happy with this. Even though the purchase price may still be a bit above market for this lens, I am very happy with the condition of the lens. It was better than advertised from that perspective.

Thanks for all the comments.

No she's much more conventionally dressed than that.
