I suspect Ricoh is well aware of the FF lenses out in the wild. And the need to provide new glass that has a clear value proposition over the old glass.

HD coatings, faster motors, better correction for CA, WR will all be important in doing that. I suspect we will see some very nice glass over the next two years. Now that Ricoh has committed to FF I think they will develop the glass to back it up. That is where the profit is at so to make the FF system profitable they need the glass to fill it out.
