I have the Sigma 18-50 and just recently bought the Pentax 50-135. The Sigma is on when indoors and single wide angle shots outdoors. The 50-135 is on the rest of the time, (which is 70%) best choice I have made in a lens.

If it is a choice from the ones given, I would suggest the 50-135.

Here's how permission works at my house.

Her "Is that new?"

Me "This?"

Her "Yes, that!"

Me "You mean, this one here?"

Her "Yes, that one!"

Me "Naw, I got this a while back." "Don't you remember?"

Her "No! I don't remember!" "So, it is new, isn't it?"

Me "Well yes, it is." "But, I promise, it will be the last one."

Her "Yeah, right!"

Me "By the way, isn't that seat on your Cannondale Bike new?"

Her "Whatever!"

Biggest mistake I ever made was getting a silver 77ltd. Stuck out like a sore thumb.

Timing is everything. Four lenes this year and I think she may know about two. Just asked for a 70-200 2.8 Sigma and got her in a weak moment..[ early Christmas present she said to me!!] Ran down to order the Sigma and won't be available until August or September for Pentax mount! [sad day knowing I will have to go through this all again in August] The last two I just bought and waited for the axe to fall. So there nothing! I think she is starting to realize its a lost cause and stopped fighting over my LBA. Cheers JIMBO

Hi Vanchaz,

I find for weddings that my 24-70 is my workhorse, it's great in low light and wide enough for the big group shots. You are right the Sigma 28-105 is really great for portriats.

Other than weddings I do a lot of enents and I find that having range is great for catching candid shots of people enjoying themselves. What I'm really looking forward to is trying the 50-135 on the beach this year while my kids are riding their boogey boards. Last year I lugged by 135-400, not only was it heavy but speed was a factor in catching some of the shots. The 50-135 should perform much better for me.

Thanks
Shawn
