K-3 with Porst Color Reflex MC Auto 55mm f1.2

at f1.2

at f4

and f16

thankfully, I do get focus confirmation with this lens, so focusing is a bit easier than I expected, but the aperture may be a bit sticky as it does not seem to be reliable when the green button is in use...

yes - surprisingly so, given the age, etc... I noticed some cleaning marks on the front element, but barely there...

Nice shots. Looks like you are getting pretty well trained on the Mitacon 35. :>)

Ironically, I feel more at home on this Mitakon then on my FA35. Even back-button focusing + AF-S center point only can't give me the same level of confidence that MF gives me.

OK - had some time to work with the new girl:

the lavender shot was at f16, the other two at f1.2

a couple of early notes - this lens does not work well in strong daylight, even with a moderate hood - and with the aperture ring maxed out at f16, you simply have to compensate with the DSLR's dynamic range and exposure compensation...

also, bokeh at f16 is surprisingly similar to bokeh at f1.2... but great color saturation and rendering...

fully manual, both aperture and focus rings are solidly-damped, and focus ring runs backwards by Pentax standards..

it was mentioned in the remarks of my shot yesterday about the aperture of the lens not stopping down - I think you are right; it seems to be rather unreliably stopping down...

granted, I bought the lens for the f1.2 end of it, but I'll be asking the seller if there had been a previous issue that had gone unreported...

could it be due to the anodized mount that green-button metering fails to meter properly?

it is the anodized mount - a quick fix with foil gives me green-button metering...

at f4 - this is a much better lens with proper metering (go figure):

A detour: I have finally decided to get the Tamron Adaptall-2 17mm (with OEM hood), and another KA adapter. Is this a good combo to replace my DA15? I bought this because I have plans to ditch my NEX-6 and two Lens Turbos for a used Sony a7r.

I tried this very thing - worked my way all around buying a DA 15 Limited, including buying a Tamron Adaptall-2 151B.... nothing wrong with the 151B, other than the hood/lens cap arrangement... but it is not as good as either a DA15 or a DA 14...

I bought the DA 14mm f2.8 and that solved my LBA on that end of the focal lengths...

I have posted reviews of both lenses in the review section...

My problem is that because I am planning on going FF, I will need a below-20 WA lens, and I have chosen a 151B because I saw one, but do I still have to keep the DA15?
