Why stop at 2? Once you get started, you might as well go for 20
I started building my Pentax mount lens collection last September and I already have 4 - 50mm lenses, somehow they just show up. If you want a really sharp and inexpensive 50mm lens with great color and don't mind manual metering the Pentax M 50mm f1.7 is a real winner and easy to find.
Back in my film days, I used 17mm to 28mm range for landscapes (about 12mm to 18mm in APS-C), but that is personal preference. Probably a 24mm or 28mm would be a good place to start. 28mm vintage prime lenses seem to very abundant. But study the reviews, the Vivitar/Komine and Vivitar/Cosina options are very good and inexpensive and available in "A" versions (among others).
Also there are lots of 135mm options that are very good to great lenses. I have a Vivitar/Komine 135mm f2.8 that was cheap and quite good.
But all of these are MF lenses. Hope this is helpful.

Oops looks like I replied to an early part of this thread, hope I am not too redundant or going off in the wrong direction. (Of course rabbit trails and direction changes are the norm on these threads aren't they?)
