A few test shots with my birthday present to myself, the HD 35mm f2.8 Ltd macro, taken this morning before work.I am very impressed

Mine is the "SMC" (green band) version. Yes seems to be a very fine lens, tack sharp across the focus range and good colors and contrast (with some PP work). The only real drawback I can see is that at 1:1 macro you are only about 1/2" away from the lens (have to pull the hood back). But the 50 and 100 macro's will really be the tools for that type of shooting. It is definitely a keeper!

I do not see the 1:1 facility as a draw back, just some thing that is superfluous.I do like a relatively close focus on all my lenses, just in case!
