Took my 40mm XS for a spin today. I remember why I fell in love with this lens in the first place. The long distance sharpness is so much better than the 43 and the rendering up close is still really amazing. So much so I might have to part with the 43 since it hasn't had the same magic for me. The 40mm xs has to be one of the most brilliant designs they've ever made.
