Testing some of my lenses for colour today. Side by side stopped down to f6.3, on tripod all at same base parameter. The lenses were HD DA 40mm, Helios M 58mm, K 55 f1.8, A 50mm f2.8 macro and Auto Revuenon 50mm f1.4. Obviously if you check the EXIF data you can pick out the 40mm and 50mm f2.8, but what about the others?

I've been collecting some of the old medium format Mamiya 645 non-AF lens at bargain prices. These are usable on the K-1 and K-3 with the use of an inexpensive adapter, but not on the Pentax 645 cameras because of incompatible registry distances.
The lenses collected thus far include:

Mamiya 645 45mm f 2.8
Mamiya 645 80mm f 1.9
Mamiya 645 150mm f 3.5
Mamiya 645 210mm f 4.0
Mamiya 645 300mm f 6.5

These are all good lenses, though not generally superstars, and in most cases not better than their Pentax equivalents, the one exception perhaps being the super fast Mamiya 645 80mm f 1.9. The 80/1.9 is said to be the fastest medium format lens ever produced, and is roughly equivalent to a 135 lens of f 0.90, with its OOF performance generally confirming. Attached are a few shots with the most recently acquired of these lenses, the 210mm f 4.0, which in this early use is looking quite sharp.
