K 35 f2 is a nice lens to shoot with. I think it performs better than my M 50 1.4. It's not small, though, probably the only fault I can give it. Feels like a comprise focal length on both crop and full frame to me, where as I gravitate to 28 and 50 on both.
Interesting to note differences between us, I gravitate to 35 on APSC. 28mm was a favorite for me with film, but I find I don't use it much with the crop sensors (but it would be about 19mm on crop). I use my 50's quite a bit also, probably more because of either the speed or for macro work depending on the lens. I would like to get a fast 35 at some point.

so far, with only a few shots to show, there is a ton of character here that's only going to get better:

always the differences in perspective...

I only shoot APS-C and did not have any background with film ILC before moving to digital, so cannot speak to either film or FF...

for me, the 24mm and 55mm focal lengths hold the most appeal as a walk-around views...

I'm the same inre: 50's on full frame; it's an okay focal length on full frame, but I'm really using it for speed vs. size of lens + cost of lens. Pack the same image quality, speed, and size of my M 50 1.7 into something between 35 and 40mm and I would use that much more often. Unfortunately that lens doesn't seem to exist.

DA35 Limited, but losing speed...

FA35/2 is a thought... and still readily available...

DA*55/1.4 or Sigma 50/1.4, but gaining size & weight...

of course, there's a bevy of third-party offerings, but if you already have the M50/1.7, what's the point, right?

Short version: yeah, pretty much. I could also make it easier on myself and use film & developer combination that I can better push beyond an EI of 1600. Which I'm currently not doing. And because I'm taking my gear on runs, I need it to be compact so it's easy to get in and out of my backpack/case arrangement, and I use f1.7 pretty much constantly this time of year due to available daylight.

40mm Voigtlander Ultron f2 SLII's in PKA are available from Ebay Japan. Not cheap but would be my ideal FF or film lens . I have a couple of original SL 40mm in M42 and Nikon F. Build and image quality on film is awesome. Not tested the M42 on my K3 as I have a Ltd 40.
Luckily on APSc I am happy with the perspective that a 28 or 30mm gives, then I jump to a 40mm then 50mm. I find above 50mm too long for my taste except for specific tasks like close up. I find I rarely use my Ltd 15mm or 35mm lenses even though they are really good.

I love the 35mm Limited and I managed to escape the siren call of the 15mm Limited by buying a DA14/2.8 instead...

Yes, the Ultron 40 f2 seems about it really. It's unfortunate that it seems basically impossible to mount swap a Konica 40 f1.8 over to k-mount... probably much more wise to just get a Konica body and consider that my running camera.

Off to look at ebay and thinking about how I could waste money.

Save them. In 30 years when you sell the lenses on ebay they’ll be worth twice as much with the boxes
