sign on to do a month with either lens in the Single In Challenge and you'll get to know all about that lens, good and bad...
Looks like fun - I think I will.

Thanks for the suggestion!

for me, the SIC is a critical part of a lens' evaluation; after a month of daily usage, if I don't connect with a lens, out it goes....

We don't get them in the UK. Hence why I did not recognise them

Yes, for me on apsc, the 28 is a very versatile wide/normal FOV

well

I am certainly no kind of photography expert

but it appears to me to be too big of a lens for the shot

and hand held, it seems, too

I'm impressed

I see it too

but for the shot he is taking, it isn't being used

that is what I meant

the 55mm focal length, either the K 1.8 or the DA 1.4, is interesting but I am not sure if I will ever pull the trigger

certainly won't be in the immediate future I know that.

The vivitar macro 55/2.8 (Komine) - that is an interesting one... Many folks here have a copy, and I bet they can attest to it.

Out of the DA1.4 or K 1.8 - I've only tried the K (it is my only K lens actually)... for some reason, most of my "good" shots, especially my best portrait (of my baby daughter) came off this lens. I like it.

Rainy day photos

Here are three rainy day photos. As you can see on the first photo, this is probably not the best lens for birding.

KIT: K-1 with Carl Zeiss Jena Biometar (Zebra) 80mm f 2.8.

It looks like it's being used to me. The shadow indicates it's on the ground.
