K-3 with FA 43mm f1.9 Limited

interesting comparison:

the FA43 Limited will give you CA if you force her to..

first shot, SOOC:

processed through Luminar Flex:

and, finally, completely monochrome:

I do like these comparisons. I prefer the original image, though there is not a lot between them to my taste.
I would like to see more comparison posts, between both processing and different lenses of the same subject.

I am interested in the 105mm macro; I have the 70mm macro and it's sharp but was curious also about the differences between the 105 EX and the 105 EX DG...

why do you only shoot the 105 wide open?
Yes, the user reviews are not easy to tease out the differences between the EX and the EX DG, are they? My 50mm EX DG is really good, and the reviews are consistently very positive. I have seen a couple of the 105s available but never been sufficiently convinced, comparing to the universally positive (even if slightly lower scoring) of the various Tamron 90s, and the Pentax 100 Macros. As well as my Sigma 50mm I have two Tamron 90 MFs, both 1:2 macro, so I would probably only go for a 100mm macro if an AF Pentax.

I JUST REALIZED I NEGLECTED THIS INQUIRY!!! This is very very very important!!! - The difference between the EX and the EX DG is that the DG communicates with the newer bodies!!!

With Pentax you do not have to worry about this, but with EF and other mounts = try to get DG lenses.... they're adjusted (in software) to fit the "newwer" dslrs.

lens repair question - open for suggestions, comments, etc:

I bought a beat-up SMC A 35-70 lens that has had the filter ring chewed/chipped/detonated off - I am thinking of attaching a step up ring so I can attach a hood and the lens will hold a lens cap...

any suggestions on an epoxy for the lens-to-ring attachment?

this is going to be a bodge of a job, so I'm not looking for rocket-science here.... will good old JB Weld to the trick or something else?
I think any two part epoxy that you can pick up at Lowe's will work. Just choose your working time. Scuff the bonding area and wipe it clean.
