probably at least a dozen pairs - I live in a pair of jeans, from the office to home....

that yarn is particularly over-saturated, but this lens does seem to transmit a lot of color....

Charlie - that last shot with the pup, that's intense! Great juxtaposition of the doggy and how the shot was composed and finished in PostProd. Great series, but that last one is the money shot!

I had the 8mm Rokinon for awhile, but let it go in favor of the DA10-17 zoom...

I do sport the 18-55 DA Kit lens (2nd vers), that most k-50's came with... I never use it though, as I favour the primes... I just want to feel where am I getting at distortion/fisheye and where am I staying true to a landscape.

the DA10-17 loses most/all of its fishy distortion by 14mm, plus has amazing color...

It can be fun to bend the Midwestern horizon line now and then, like painters Thomas Hart Benton and Grant Wood would do on occasion.

I'm not certain whether someone needs an 8mm lens, though. I do know, however, that I felt like something was missing when I first added a cropped sensor dslr to my Pentax-compatible camera equipment. It was like all of the wide-angledness was suddenly stolen from my little lens collection, which at the time went no wider than 28mm. Suddenly 28mm was just a "normal" lens. Even a couple of years later, when I added a 24mm, on cropped sensor its angle of view was more like a wide-ish normal lens than the lovely wide-angle it is on full-frame 35mm film.

It took me quite a while to finally add, in zooms, minimal focal lengths of 18, 19 and 21mm, and, in primes, 8mm and 16mm. [I did manage to get an old Samigon 180-degree fish-eye conversion lens somewhat earlier in the process, but it's a bit more of a (heavy and well-made) toy and difficult to get really sharp results from, though it will make circular fish-eye images on film.]

My copy of this Samyang-made 8mm started out as a slightly scratched copy in Canon mount (I could never afford the copies I found for sale in Pentax mount). It took a bit of doing to convert it into a K-mount able to get infinity focus at the widest aperture. Its fun to see it working nicely. Incidentally, the lens can only be used on cropped sensor.

If I'm goin' fishin', I'm not going to apologize for having fish on my stringer.
