I understand that the DG series is meant to work with the DSLRs - in PK mount (Very specific) = is there a "true" difference between EX DG and plain old EX ?

In other mounts, I can tell you that there is a difference, not optically, but in the way the lens communicates with the dslr camera (or lack of communication with the camera).

as I recall, Sigma designated lenses "DG/DC" to indicate that the lenses had been optimized for DSLR usage, while the coding itself was DG = FF and DC = crop-sensor...

I love the sullen, subdued tones of these photos you produce, P'berry Farm! Is that a characteristic of the lens, exposure, post-processing or a combination of any of the above?

thank you - it's a combination of me underexposing pretty much everything and my post-production...

Underexposing is awesome for character and impact... it is unerminded I believe.

Oddly, whenever you're beginning photography they always advocate "perfect" exposure or "proper" exposure - I myself dislike when my shots are "bright" - it is nice in BW sometimes to get nicer greys, but personal I'm a dark type of fellah.

Agreed - I can understand a picture being too dark, but there's definitely value in underexposing images for moodiness. I think my tastes fall into this category too, typically speaking.

I agree with you about underexposing. I do it a lot with both K-1 and 645Z. Their dynamic range is such that it is easy to add more exposure in post processing. For my flower photography, I can preserve more detail with underexposure, and bring it up a little when editing the photos. What do you mean by the term "unerminded"? I have a feeling that it is a typo, but not sure what was intended. Keep up the great work!

First, thanks! Now I meant to say undermined = but it might actually be the wrong word to describe what I was trying to say. What I meant is that under exposing is "underestimated, undervalued, disparaged (!?)" = I translated from a term in Spanish = menospreciado - which literary would mean "less appreciated"

I perfectly understand the grammatical glitch as my wife and step-children are Filipina/o, and I get all sorts of word variants! I pick "undervalued" as the best word to convey the intended meaning.
