Medium format prime lens

Here are three handheld shots with an unusual prime lens, the Pentax 67 120mm f 3.5 Soft Focus lens.

Really dreamy - liking a lot that first shot especially.

Thanks Ed. Appreciate it. I have been trying to develop some techniques/practices with this lens.

You're welcome. I've never used a designated soft lens before (I've seen them but never acquired one) - it seems to be a whole different approach, so should not be easy. it is in my long list of photography to dos... someday...

I have three of them: (1) SMC Pentax-F 85mm f 2.8 Soft, (2) SMC Pentax 67 120mm f 3.5 Soft, and (3) Mamiya-Sekor SF C 645 145mm f 4.0. I like the Mamiya best, but although it is a medium format lens, I only use it on the K-1 with an adapter because it cannot be adapted to Pentax medium format cameras because of incompatible registry distances. I do not actually need all three of these, but then I am probably a better pack rat than a photography so may even acquire more of them as time goes on. There is a soft-focus lens club that you might be interested in viewing.

I've seen the reviews on the F 85/2.8 Soft - there are some interesting examples of the lens there. I found it odd that there is a "Sharpness" grading scale for this lens; albeit I can see it used "sharpness based on the fact that the lens is a soft lens" - at some point in time, this will be the one I'd look to acquire.

Yes, I recommend the F85. Great lens. The degree of softness is at is max at f 2.8 and gradually decreases (object become sharper, less fuzzy) as the lens is rotated to smaller apertures, until at around f 8.0 the lens becomes simply another 85mm lens with no softness.
