Mamiya 645 70mm C f 2.8 L.S.

I just added the latest Mamiya 645 C lens to my collection, the Mamiya 645 C 70mm f 2.8 L.S. This lens has a lens shutter that allows strobe sync up to 1/500 sec., enough to just about black out the background, or at least subdue it, with mid-day outside portraits. That was not my reason for buying, however. The lens has a great reputation for sharpness and color fidelity, and MFD of about 18 inches, meaning that it can be used for flower photography. I took it outside for a quick walk around, and here are a few results, all JPEG SOC. The keeper rate would have been 100 percent except for a few over/under exposures which were not the fault of the lens (or the camera).

One of my newest primes

Here are a few early morning shots with the 645Z and the (adapted) Pentax 67 100mm f 4.0 macro, rapidly becoming one of my favorite lens.

I can certainly see why.

Thanks for the comment. This lens is generating a record level of keepers, and most have no need for any post work except maybe slight up or down on lighting and slight cropping for format.
