Yes, will be a learning curve. I have had f/1.4 lenses in the past and never really mastered wide open shooting.

Here are a few first shots. Lots of failures, particularly getting the focus where I want it.

K70 with D FA 50mm macro

The trees are over 40m away, but the flowers were at close to minimum focusing distance, handheld at arms length with LV and autofocusing. All shots are camera JPEGs, cleaned up just a tiny bit with Microsoft Photos, no clever PP

took my K P out to play today for the first time and of course I went to the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center

here I was using the SMC Pentax-FA 77mm 1.8 Limited

standing at the little bridge and mallards silently flew over my head from behind and came into land

two different sets minutes apart

I think the result isn't bad for quick snap photos

Tokina RMC 200mm f2.5 with K-70

I dusted off the old 200mm lens and walked around the garden this afternoon to see how it would perform on a high-res system. The answer - quite good. These are out-of-camera jpegs, with minor tweaks to sharpen and brighten the colours only, and cropped to show the interesting subject. The pic of the dragon pot has not been touched. Being able to read the label on a 12mm diameter hose at about 5m distance is impressive, but remember for this lens minimum focus is 2.5metres.

I added some comments and rated it in the Third-Party Lens Reviews, it's probably a bit behind my Pentax-M 200mm f4 so I gave it an Overall 8.
