Yes, definitely a keeper for personal reasons if not entirely for optical quality. It was probably not a rational decision to spend $200 to convert it to K-mount, but then so much of what I do is not done for rational reasons! Thank you for your comments.
Well, look at it this way, it would have cost a lot more to acquire a new K mount f1.2 lens. So you likely 'saved' $200 or more. That's how we justify our expenditures.

By the way, the Canon is a stellar lens

Well, that is right assuming I do not also acquire a Pentax 50mm f 1.2!

Well, there IS a Pentax A 50/1.2 for sale in the marketplace.

and the reviews

I know, I know, I'm a trouble maker. Seriously though, I'm surprised this lens has lingered in the marketplace since it's a desirable fast fifty.

Pentax M 100mm f2.8 + K-5iis. This is not a lens I use often due to its minimum focusing distance and focal length on APS-C, that's something I need to work on.

Super Multi Coated Takumar 35mm

This was late afternoon, using a Sony A7ii. These are all jpegs straight out of the camera. The colours, contrast, sharpness are all dramatic, and make full use of the available light. The moon peeks down in the long-focus shot.

Another Pentax classic lens, this one is a bit under-rated I think.

Thanks Dave.

This is the 35mm f3.5, product code 43572, the fifth variant on the review page (Super Multi Coated is spelled out). Serial Number starts with 71, so I guess it is close to 50 years old now.

I posted a shot on another thread about CCD sensors, taken with this lens on the Pentax K-m, and it has really convincing Kodachrome-25 colours on that sensor.

I go out on a limb and say Gary has the 35/3.5 - that first water shot, I've shot similar landscapes with my 35/3.5 and OOTC looks very similar. It is an awesome lens, second in my 35mm to my Rikenon XR... but not by much.

whoops, you beat me to my prediction (I drafted it, but sidetracked and just posted it).

Glad to see another happy 35/3.5 SMC user.
