the nice thing about a 'macro' lens is that it is usually not 'just' a macro lens - the three that I have (granted, the SMC A 100/4 does not get that close and is not a 1:1 macro) also take nice pictures throughout the entire focal length...
Very true and you're getting some nice results with the new 50.

Vivitar 28/2.8 CF

Ok so I did go out with my 50mm f4 Macro. You guys made me do it

Is it me or do these pictures have a bit of a "3D" effect on them? It could be my PP... but I thought macro lenses were not supposed to be used as landscape lenses because they're too flat

I thought I would join in the fun of this extremely long running post, so here are a couple of recent pics with my K3 and Tamron SP 90mm f2.8 Macro

---------- Post added 03-17-18 at 04:47 AM ----------

As I was composing this post, the postman arrived with my newly ordered HD DA 15mm ltd! My prime collection is dangerously close to Pepperberry Farm's in number.

lovely shots - which Tamron 90? AF or one of the Adaptall variants?

and congrats on the new lens - I don't have one, but it produces amazing shots (from what I've seen)....

(current count on primes is 22, but looking to sell off a few)

It is the Adaptall one. I only got it recently but very impressed so far. I may have over-estimated my PK compatible primes, but it sounded good. I actually have now 16 PK compatible primes, but some I would not use on digital - PK 20mm f4, PK 100mm f2.8, Revuenon 45mm f2.8, PK 55mm f1.8, as I do not think they cut the mustard on APSC digital format, though they are still excellent on film , which I still use for various reasons.
I got the Sigma 28mm f1.8 macro on your recommendation.... very happy with it despite its massive bulk. Oh, how I wish Pentax would release a APSC 28mm f2-ish lens. I am a sucker for that field of view.
Initial experiments on the HD DA 15mm Ltd are very favourable. I will get round to posting some images and a review in due course.
22 Primes? Wow, that does seem rather a lot. I do not know whether to be impressed, or pity your obsession!

Nice shooting and welcome to the Club! Are those "PK" primes you listed the SMC variants, or M-lenses? If they are, don't discount their abilities on digital until you try them! They may require a bit of PP to correct a few aberrations, but for me the rendering and colors more than make up for the slight inconvenience. Visit the K Club, M Club, and Takumar Clubs (or visit the back pages of this thread) to see what these lenses can do on digital!

Yes I second that. Many here and other places on the forums are using various vintage prime (and zoom) lenses with excellent results on APSC digital. It looks like many of the "SMC" (aka "K") and "M" prime lenses are good to excellent performers on digital from seeing various people's results not to mention quite a number of third party lenses from those same eras. Here are some examples from my collection (fairly small collection compared to others on the forums).

SMC "K" 55mm f/1.8

M 100mm f/2.8

SMC "K" 24mm f/3.5

I would like to get one of the 20mm (K or M version) but the prices are a bit high on them for my budget.
