It is the Adaptall one. I only got it recently but very impressed so far. I may have over-estimated my PK compatible primes, but it sounded good. I actually have now 16 PK compatible primes, but some I would not use on digital - PK 20mm f4, PK 100mm f2.8, Revuenon 45mm f2.8, PK 55mm f1.8, as I do not think they cut the mustard on APSC digital format, though they are still excellent on film , which I still use for various reasons.
I got the Sigma 28mm f1.8 macro on your recommendation.... very happy with it despite its massive bulk. Oh, how I wish Pentax would release a APSC 28mm f2-ish lens. I am a sucker for that field of view.
Initial experiments on the HD DA 15mm Ltd are very favourable. I will get round to posting some images and a review in due course.
22 Primes? Wow, that does seem rather a lot. I do not know whether to be impressed, or pity your obsession!

as already mentioned, give those old lenses a try - I have quite a few K and A lenses that I use on my K-50 and K-3 (I don't shoot film at all) and I am thrilled with the colors and clarity of these so-called 'outdated' lenses...

(and you should pity me for my LBA)

with the price of a 20mm where it is, I bought a DA 21 Limited...

Yes I second that. Many here and other places on the forums are using various vintage prime (and zoom) lenses with excellent results on APSC digital. It looks like many of the "SMC" (aka "K") and "M" prime lenses are good to excellent performers on digital from seeing various people's results not to mention quite a number of third party lenses from those same eras. Here are some examples from my collection (fairly small collection compared to others on the forums).

SMC "K" 55mm f/1.8

M 100mm f/2.8

SMC "K" 24mm f/3.5

I would like to get one of the 20mm (K or M version) but the prices are a bit high on them for my budget.
The 20mm M is a fine lens but when used on the K3 it just does not stack up to the results you get from my better lenses. Same goes for the others mentioned. I am sure if I did not have the DA 50mm f1.8, and the A 50mm f2.8 macro, I would be more than happy with the results they produce, but I am afraid those 2 lenses have spoilt me to the extent that I am far more critical. I have the original Tamron 90mm f2.5 macro, and it just is not as good on APSC as the newer f2.8 version, or the PKA 50mm f2.8 macro. on APSC. I never had any complaints on film though with these lenses, and do indeed still use them with film.

Sometimes I use my long lens for macro stuff as its min focus distance is super short (DA200mm). Both are on F:4.5

OK, that is good to know. Those vintage 20 lenses are low on my list because of the cost they go for.

I have a few modern lenses that do spoil me also, particularly the DA 21 f/3.2 Limited, D FA 50 f/2.8 Macro and the D FA 100 f/2.8 Macro WR. Another recent purchase is the Rokinon 10mm f/2.8. I used ultra-wide lenses back in my film days that the Rokinon is a major improvement over the old glass.

I guess it is just fun to pull out a vintage lens every once in a while and do some shooting, every lens has its quirks and characteristics. And then sometimes a new (to me) one shows up in the mail and it goes on a camera for a while

yes, it did...

three years ago, when I started this thread, I was just curious about prime lenses.... all I had at the time were the two kit lenses that came with my K-50 and I just knew there was more to this than those two lenses...

those lenses have been gone for quite a while, now... replaced over and over again...

I appreciate everyone who has added their experience and opinions to this thread, everyone who has shared photos of and by their primes, everyone who offered suggestions or showed what works for them...

it's been quite the ride...

Hey first and foremost regarding LBA, we are all in this together

And yes the DA 21 is well worth the money. Another lens I would like some day in that range is the FA 20 f/2.8, but they go for $500+

K-3 with Sigma 28mm f1.8 EX DG

and back to the primes ...

I realized last night, before I listed it for sale, that I didn't have any decent shots of the A50/1.7:

then went back to shooting dinner prep:

K 3 + SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

would love to claim that these were photographed in the wild

but truth be told they were in the netted aviary at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha Ne and I was standing on the elevated walk way

( BTW this is the set up that hit the concrete a few days ago when I screwed up )
