I don't think it will take the place of the Sigma 28 1.8 that PBF has... it's an ok lens, from what I see, not much more than that.
But that's basically the low common denominator when it comes to 28mm primes...

... I have an FA 28 2.8 and its a great all around lens that renders magically on APS-C. I have owned the FA77 and the 28 can hold its own.The lenses I use the most are my FA 20-40 (love it very much) and the FA28. I have the DA35 2.4 and its really great especially for the price but I prefer the 28mm as it's my focal sweetspot for a prime.

Interesting - the rendering reminds me of an Industar 50-2, but with more bubbly bokeh Definitely some possibilities there!

this is not a clinically-sharp lens - and I didn't expect to be so...

this was a fun purchase; a lens that is going to challenge me to bring out its best...

unfortunately, that's going to have to wait until she returns from Advance Camera for a CLA and repair...

First test shots with my newly acquired SMC DA 40 Ltd. Pretty nice rendering on my test subject. SOOC cropped only.

So on my lunch walks I'm not looking like a complete geek. A K-50 on one shoulder (usually with Rikenon P 50 1.4), the K10D on the other shoulder (usually with A 24 2.8, but today the Takumar Bayonet which is usually there "just in case" stayed on for almost the whole time). And the bag in case I need a filter, inverter ring, etc. These are from today's walk.

K10D, Takumar Bayonet 135 2.8

K10D, A 24 2.8

K-50, Rikenon 50 1.4

Spoils of our (SWMBO and myself) victory in the trivia competition up at Liberty Craft Brewing, up the road from my home. Local brewed Ale. Good stuff. Maine now has a micro brewery for every 15,000 residents or so. We have 2 in a town of less than 900! SOOC after cropping. Taken with my new DA 40!
