What sad news. Table Rock Lake is where I did most of my fishing when I was there. Managed a gas station/convenience store at the corner of 86 and JJ. At the end of JJ was Table Rock. Saw some incredible thunderstorms while I was there.

I was saddened to hear about the accident and some of the statements from survivors are very troubling. The folks that converted the first Dukw's Now called Ducks, into civilian service ran into some issues because the original design was for one or perhaps two trips from ship to shore and the [parts that were only good for a trip or two needed to be redesigned and not just replaced with similar.

I had someone ask me if I knew of somewhere to get one (a Duck boat or similar Amphibious craft,) to buy or lease so they could move household goods and materials out to their privately owned island. When I told them about the initial design, they decided on building a dock and doing it the sensible way.

My dad found a lens at goodwill for 3 dollars. It's a Petri 50mm f1.7. Not much information on this lens is available, but I can tell you that it's kind of plastic feeling, but the overall operation of the lens is very smooth. The aperture has an incredibly satisfying click when moving between apertures. The mount is M42, which dates it probably back to the mid to late 70s.

Here are some example photos from it. The performance from this lens is actually pretty surprising, even at infinity. After I test it more I'll give a full review.

well

I did get an " experienced " SMC Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited because of the price even though I did own

the " best in its class " SMC Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 XS

and there are differences between the two lenses QS and built

but the XS certainly can do the job
