When I was doing research for what 24mm lens I was going to buy, I saw a bunch of pictures from the Tamron 24 2.5 and they were all definitely on the "meh" side in regards of sharpness and color. Needless to say, your pictures prove that's not really the case...

I'll be comparing it to my K24/2.8 next month during the SIC, but for now I've taken her off the camera until August 1st....

SMU pics will be coming up...

I like the Pentax lenses for the capability, if I nail the focus, to reach into a photo and pull out a target from within it

like my dragon fly photos

or

as here the " frame " formed by the leaves

I would suggest also considering the F50 FA50 DFA50 f2.8 Macro lenses (or the DA35 limited macro). You get excellent close focus capability, they are all very sharp and you get to add a macro lens in your tool box. Also, if you ever think about moving to FF, then it might be worth having a good FF lens. Construction of the DFA, FA and F series lenses are much more stout than the DA50, DA35.

Takumar Bayonet 135 2.8... and some of the geese we have all over the Atlanta suburbs. This is close to our office's parking log.

And this is the Tokina 24mm f/2.8. A lens I really grew to like. Between that and my A 24 2.8 I'm not really sure which one I like best! They're both fantastic.

some times the opinion of someone with " fresh eyes" can give a new perspective to this issue
