K-3 with Sigma 70mm f2.8 EX DG Macro

not the only shot I had for the day, but certainly the most meaningful: this is the 90,000th shot on my original K-3 body

a year ago, this shot would have been impossible for me:

I would not have been able to produce a red like this with any definition to the petals; I would have probably either converted it to monochrome or culled it completely...

this is a result of getting it right in-camera and careful post-processing... I've learned that my normal dose of contrast is anathema to reds, especially well-lit reds like these Mexican sunflowers...

I've been using Luminar and getting better/more refined with my processing and am seeing positive results from just practicing...

The Castle Remains

I had the pleasure today of spending a morning in the company of Mr & Mrs Clackers, Castle Urquhart and wee bite of lunch, all on a fine dry Summers day... not.

Thanks, took that will guarding his kit, while he shined up to the top of the tower, passages a bit narrow for the old Kerrowdown to fit... I form a one way traffic jam me.

Rummaging thru the archives and found this one from late Nov. 2015. Zenitar 16 on K10D. The Zen can be quite non-fishy if you center the horizon.

Mightily impressed with the Helios 44k-4 images, so checked out a few more from this thread. Still very impressed, so on its way soon will be my own 44k - 4, complete with Zenit Auto camera attatched! The camera is supposed to be faulty, but we will see, but as I am getting the pair for half the price the lenses sell from Russia or the Ukraine these days I am not to bothered if the camera ends up as a paperweight!
Lenses are beginning to seem like buses these days. My HD DA 40mm arrived yesterday, now waiting for the Helios.
