from everything I've read, plus the reviews & experience we have here, there is no difference in the optics...

I would imagine that the Limited is a bit easier to manually focus, of course, being a smidge deeper, and the Limited has quickshift... but that should be about it....
From what I have seen about the 40mm Limited vs XS, the Limited has better coatings. Even comparing SMC versions, the tests show that the Limited has about half the CA of the XS. With the HD version that is even further improved. Or so the tests say

and now the M42 adapter is a permanent fixture on the K-5 IIs...

I'll be interested in your thoughts about shooting the M42 lenses stopped down, when the viewfinder gets a bit dim.

so far, so good on that score - I do rely (probably too much) on focus confirmation, plus have an O-ME53 on the K-5 IIs.... about the only thing left to do would be to change to focusing screen, but in the limited amount to time I've been shooting with the 55/1.8, I think I've been getting good results...

to be fair, I usually shoot in brighter lighting conditions, or I switch over to LiveView for better overall composition and focusing...

Maybe I need to get out of Pentax forums a little bit now, thanks

(and into the kitchen... )

On a related note, I love making my own pancakes in my cast iron skillet - I can make them crisp on the outside and real fluffy inside -, but the wife and kids don't appreciate them so I haven't made them in over a year. meh.

Aaand speaking of primes. Here's the broken Rikenon XR 50 1.4 that I take out when I'm bored and want to play with bokeh. It had the Nikon 2A warming filter attached. Taken at f/1.4 because that's the only thing it does

Interesting, might have to give it a try... here we are fans of slow cooking, the crock pots get a lot of use! So we haven't used the Instant Pots as they are primarily for speeding up cooking, no?
For doughs and such things, my cheapo Oster breadmaker is fantastic, it has been going on for years and looks very ragged but just works flawlessly, never missed a beat...

we use it as a pressure cooker, a rice cooker, a slow cooker (crock pot), an oatmeal cooker.... pretty much a number of things, all rolled into one...

we've had it for a year and no issues...

but bread is always by hand and baked in an oven....
