but back to the primes... currently shopping in the M42 aisle for a 55mm f1.4 lens....
A lot of those have Thorium glass in it... but are very highly regarded, said to be better than a lot of the Takumar 50 1.4 variations in terms of sharpness.

not too worried about the Thorium - I won't be sleeping with under my pillow...

and anything associated with Tomioka is stunningly expensive...

Right, but the Mamiya/Sekor and the Rikenon/Auto Sears 55 1.4 (which I suspect might be the same, I don't know) are both very highly regarded, can both be found for well under 100 bucks, and as far as weI know aren't Tomioka... they could be a Ricoh lens in fact....

K-50 with Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM

Off work today, so out early to see what the sunrise would deliver, only to find cloud holding it all off for an hour or so. Boo. Still I knew something should turn up.

Sunset at the park with the Vivitar 28/2.8 CF on K-5 (shot unintentionally wide-open). Wonderful lens.

Z with 67 lens

Here are four shots using Z body and 67 lenses. The first, red zinnia, uses the 67 55mm f 4.0, and the others use the 67 200mm f 4. Both lenses are great performers on full-frame K-1 and on the 645Z.
