Pulled out the D FA 50 f/2.8 Macro, haven't used it in a while (on K20D).

It is never a mistake to use the Pentax-D FA 50mm f 2.8 because it is the sharpest knife in the drawer!---and it sure does the honors for your 20D. Nice shots.

Don't fall back on the iPhone (even though I do it as well!). Your KP is certainly capable. After some experimentation with camera settings, exposure, etc, I managed this shot with a $15 no-name 28mm lens on a 6 mpx *ist D from 2003
