Serious consideration going towards either K or M 100mm f4 macro.......

I have the A 100/4 macro and it's such a sweeeeeet lens..... but not for macro purposes...
Either M 100/4 or A 100/4 - the formula is the same (not sure about the K)... the A 100/4 is famous for hazing the frontal group (I had one - my fix was to get an inexpensive M 100/4 and basically use that front group on my A 100/4)

I do not think I've used it much on Macro - here's a few examples (again, A-100/4 with the front element from a M 100/4):

Do you know the old joke about why there's a fence around the cemetery?

People are dying to get in.

That's a pretty high cemetery fence compared to most of the ones I've seen.

Ha!

On the fence - this is an odd cementery - basically it is the size of the shot you see - the size of a regular home lot in a city block. It is smack on 21st Street in Astoria Queens - 21st street is highly transited, as it connects with the Queensboro bridge. Main street for buses to and from Long Island City and Astoria...

Why they have a small cemetery there? Apparently it has been around since 1841, so I reckon the neighborhood was a bit different then

Probably a lot more cemeteries should have tall fences. We have episodes of cemetery vandalism around my region every few years. Mostly drunk teenagers breaking the oldest most fragile stones, or even sometimes driving vehicles over them. Perpetrators are rarely caught. Some of the stones get repaired or restored eventually, depending on the resources of the community and the level of outrage.

DA 300mm f/4

This deer came out of the woods into my back yard, yesterday. Quite a surprise.

and then, sunset

You sure are making nice use of your 43mm Limited. I underestimated mine from the beginning. I liked the 31 and 77 when I bought the three. I need to spend some time with it.

while not a macro or a close-focusing lens by any means (MFD = 15"), when you nail the focus, it doesn't matter:

Are those ox-eye daisies? Vacant land next to our first house, in another area of Illinois, was full of them. While non-native, they look quite at home in places where they have naturalized. And then there is a bonus--their rhyming scientific name is fun to say: Chrysanthemum leucanthemum. (I understand that recently some very non-literary scientists have changed genus name. Pooh on them.)

honestly, no idea on the daisies - I know that they are not intentionally planted there, and seem to be naturalized all over out here...
