Hosta and clematis, the medium format way

Hostas are now fully leafed out, and clematis have just begun to blossom in our garden.

thank you, Terry...

that post was from April 2017, and I have since then 'repaired' that lens with a light application of JBWeld and a step-up ring...

Out for an Autumn day in the Melbourne hills, with my K-70 and SMC 15mm Limited. This is the first time I have used the 15mm as my main lens for the day - an interesting discipline! Trying close and distant subjects, almost all at f8, a few changes of the Custom Image settings.

One shot here, the backlit fronds, is from the F35-70 zoom since I could not get close enough with the 15mm, also as a comparison of the sharpness possible from that lens

Thanks Paul. Credit to Mother Nature for the colours, and to Pentax for being able to reproduce them so accurately. I am getting to really like my Limited lenses - there is a separate group of shots taken the same day with the 21 HD DA Limited, not posted yet - but the subject needs to be worthwhile to justify a $800 lens.

Also, the F35-70mm continues to amaze me as a decades-old zoom. It's my sharpest old zoom at normal focal lengths, since my Adaptall 2 SP 35-80mm gummed up.

Medium format prime

Here is a couple of photos with the prime lens from the history books, the legendary Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180mm f 2.8 in Pentacon mount, used here on the Pentax 645Z with the help of an adapter.
