Love the pic, Allen! As a volunteer are you able to use Power and Influence to get behind the glass in some areas of your zoo?

nope and bribes don't work either

I am a docent at the Topeka zoo, and unless I am helping as an escort to a behind the scene event I have no special access

I do ask ( especially with the tiger cubs when they were born but no go )

I got more behind the scene access at another zoo based on my meeting with a head keeper there than I get in Topeka. I met him when he gave a talk to us at the topeka zoo

[ sorry not a prime lens, posted just to show how close we got to a black rhino, we literally were hands on with the animal, SOOC ]

great opportunity for myself and my wife, we also had behind the scene visit with Amur tiger and leopard, but not as long as our visit with the rhino

the animals got restless and we were quickly shown the door

[ the correct thing to do, we didn't want to distract from the training sessions we were observing ]

we did later make donations to the zoo and the rhino keeper's foundation for preservation of rhinos

I've read a lot on this Lens (and its variables) - would love to see it in action if you can share some shots!
I did a few test shots a couple of days back. Here are some examples (all similar subject), one of which was "explored" on Flickr.

The Doctor is In

The Doctor is on a Roll

The Doctor Scores Big (My personal favorite of the three)

All three taken with the Lester A. Dine 105mm f/2.8 Macro (dental lens, hence "The Doctor") on my K-3. I think the lens is a keeper.

That lens was my first "real" macro and I loved it. In fact I think it was the very first lens I bought after getting my K50 which started me down this whole Pentax path again. Yup a definite keeper IMO.
