Cool shots... I also have this lens. Yet I haven't discovered a way to gget the best results... I haven't clicked w the lens yet - any thoughts you can share?

Ibuse thebA 50/2.8 and even the preset Tak 50/4 macros really comfortably... The K i just can't get in sync with!
I also have the A 50 f2.8. I prefer the K 50 f4. Partly because of the build quality, and partly because I prefer the colours from it. I am really comfortable using K mount lenses in M mode with the green button. My K3 I shoot in RAW on the natural profile, and heresy to say, process entirely in camera.
I suspect that you can't sync with the K because you prefer the Tak for its build quality over it, and prefer the convenience of the A .I do not like using M42 mount lenses on my K3 because of the inconvenience of being forced to either use LV or stopping down to take the picture.
I have stated previously elsewhere that the A would be one of my desert island lenses, but the more I use the K I am coming to the conclusion I will be selling the A on. The K has become my favourite lens on my K3 since acquiring it last year.

See what your K has up its sleeve; it might have a hidden talent or unexpected capability. Try testing it against the other two. There may be parts of its aperture range that produce better/different results for your own needs. You can throw extension tubes or teleconverters into the mix, too. Here's what I got when I stuck the K50/4 macro onto a Vivitar 2X Macro Focusing Teleconverter.

This is awesome - thanks for the support and encouraging words! I'll just have to walk around with it more often and try different approaches. Extensions tubes - I will be working on those over the Fall hopefully.

Thanks!

Oddly enough, I do not like to use the A setting on my A lenses - I like my green button for reference, but when I use the green button on the A setting (in M mode camera), the camera chooses all my settings... I know I could use AV mode or something, but I just rather click away on the aperture ring (I honestly couldn't use a lense without an aperture ring, hence my kit lens lies unused).

The Tak is soooo crisp and alive, I cannot begin to praise it... it is probably my favorite lens

The A 50/2.8 - it is odd, I really enjoy it, but I do own a Sigma (Pre EX line) 50/2.8 that does 1:1 which I compare to the A 50/2.8 = the Sigma is no joke, a big sleeper.

The K 50/4 just will need to see more time mounted. It is lovely, well built and from the examples I see, it is a solid performer.

I have noticed since I have owned it, it does now and again produce some odd colour casts. Usually blue. But I have invariably been happy with these idiosyncrasies. I believe you can see an example in one of my bug shots.

Rikenon XR 135/2.8

Rikenon XR 35/2.8

Next few days I will venture out with my A 100/4 Macro... then the K 50/4 will shine

Glad to see someone else playing with the Rikenon XR lenses ! Whats your overall thoughts on not only the 135mm/2.8 , but also the seldom seen 35mm/2.8 ?
Just curious as I think the 35mm is actually pretty decent , but never played with the 135mm because of poor reviews.
