Fascinating photo. Can you tell me something about the image?
Thanks for your kind comment!

I think Tokyo is a very "photogenic" city, many building have very interesting architectural details - fun to try to capture these.
When I took this shot I was on my way back from our local sales office to my hotel. I only had the 85mm lens with me and had to focus () on the details, not on the whole scenery. To me this part of the skyscraper looked like there was a cut in the building, quite irritating at first.
The following shot shows that part of the building from a different angle.
Unfortunately I don't have a wide-angle shot to show the complete building

one of the attractions in St. Augustine is the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Site

Fountain of Youth – St. Augustine Historical Attraction

it is staffed by re-enactors who do demonstrations year round

here are a couple of more of a demonstration of the matchlock smooth bore musket

QuoteQuote:
In the centuries before the invention of the percussion cap, which came into use in the 1830s and 1840s, small arms had to be fired by the cumbersome (and often dangerous) means of igniting a primer charge of gunpowder in the weapon’s “pan,” which then ignited the main charge in the barrel.

There were three basic methods of so doing, namely the matchlock, wheellock, and flintlock. Wheellock and flintlock weapons were devised to overcome the problems presented by the matchlock method.. . .
[ Matchlocks, Wheellocks and Flintlocks: How Early Small Arms Were Fired | Owlcation ]

look close at the second photo and you will see how the match ( white cord ) was applied to the pan which contained the black powder

loud and smokey for sure

Misty Dawn

Didn't sleep too well, awoke early and was greeted with this view of the Loch... makes me wonder what else I must miss on other mornings.

Canon FL 55mm 1.2 @1.4 K5is Waited but no gold hour today. Instead a shot that looks more like winter than early spring.

K-3 with Sigma Super-Wide II 24mm f2.8

you'll have to forgive the paucity of prime shots for the moment - a new zoom landed recently and I'm trying to evaluate it also......

(and I don't think I really like this Sigma 24mm either)
