Just so Dave (of Pepperberry fame) doesn't get all the good home cooking, I made a streuselkuchen a couple of days ago. My mother taught me how, when I was a kid - so over 40 years ago. I'm amazed I still remembered how to make proper streusel

And the consistency of the dough was spot on as well. One with banana, the other plain.
(But I have to admit it was my 2nd attempt, the first attempt last week was somewhat of a failure - still tasty but the consistencies were wrong...).

Don't feel bad about the failure... I just baked a banana bread and fed it to the garbage bin... I messed up the salt and baking time like a rookie.

Nice to see something a bit different on this thread. Really like your picture. I would love to go back and re-take it with off camera flash to really subdue the background.
