I have one of these Sigmas, it's brilliant on my Pentax K-70 and also on a PK adapter on the Sony A7ii.
Lovely shots, Gary/ the lens is just spectacular in my opinion.

Thanks Ed. I agree this is a remarkable lens that is amazingly sharp. All three of those shots were handlheld in the breeze, so no tripod, no remote shutter release. I was really astounded by the spider web on the padlock.

My only concern is whether I should be posting these - a non-Pentax lens on a non-Pentax body, posted in Pentaxforums. I can justify on two grounds: I am replying to you, and I posted last year some shots taken with this lens on my K-70. Oh, and it is a fullframe lens, for which I do not have a Pentax fullframe camera.

I can answer that - post 'em....

this thread is about prime lenses - and I don't care what they are or brand name on them - post the shots and tell us about the lens.....

this thread was originally started (way back when) to give me info on buying my first prime..... and I'm still on the hunt for the next one....

I see our guy Dave just answered it - and for the record, I do post some shots in this specific (amazing) thread of shots taken on other platforms, with non pentax/asahi lenses. It is lovely. It is a great way for all of us (who are pentax users) to explore more brands/options... I believe that photography is not about brands, but more about the product of our tools.

Cheers!

Now you've got my attention - any in particular?

Check out the RioRico stuff in these forums... I had it saved in bookmarks, but in a different, perished, computer.

I have an MD Rokkor (50/1.4) that I'm suffering as I cannot use it... I almost pulled the trigger on a Sony A7ii just to get to try that lens. I did not do it as hey, I have over 10 50's and most are pretty solid. The Rokkor will sit patiently until things are easier/and cheaper to obtain.

Walk in woods

Two shots in the woods back of our home. Leaves are gradually appearing on the trees, and the creek is still running from our spring rains.

KIT 645D with my most valuable lens, the Pentax-D FA 645 90mm f 2.8 macro AF WR SDM.

You may be better off getting an APSc mirrorless camera or a Canon RP. Sony FF (Nikon Z6 and Z7 far too expensive for what they are) have a curved sensor not a flat one, This may be problematic for lenses designed for flat film planes. I have yet to come across a poorly performing 50 - 58mm adapted lens on my Fuji X-T1. They make very good short telephotos.

Thanks for this info - I did ponder about a X-T2 or something similar... I was just a bit scared of the x2 difference for the lenses (50mm would have the view of a 100mm and so forth)... We'll see, the do look nice, and Fuji's got nice glass as well.
