Indeed! everything came together a few days ago, and the project is on! I cut a toothpick and jammed it in the OM lens to keep the aperture engaged, obviously reversible...

It is a good project for me as I have much OM glass I like; the Rokkor can do its thing in the MicroFourThirds... the Yashinon will follow (regular ML 50/2).

So how do you like that Soligor 90mm compared with the Tamron 90mm?

I wonder if your Soligor is made by Tokina, in which case it would be the famous "Bokina".

it's a Komine lens, so not a Bokina clone... it's the bigger sister to the Vivitar 55mm macro I have...

it's almost as good as the 72B Tamron, but heavier and glowy when used wide-open....

Soligor C/D MC Macro 90mm f2.5

Look at that second response (which directs bck to our forums)... Apparently the Bokina only does 1:2 w/o adapter, so Dave can confirm whether or not it goes 1:1 or 1:2.

Funny I got the Panagor 90/2.8 (definetly not the bokina) - Komine made goes to 1:1 - and the barrel must be turned almost 3 times for it to reach 1:1 - lots of throw!

I haven't been able to use mine until very recently (yesterday), since it is an OM mount... but beware, the Panagor is coming!

Thanks. I guess I won't look for one. I like my macro lenses sharp even wide open... it just means it's a better optical design.

I do like the colors you get from it though.

thank you - I'm using it in the SIC this month, which is why you're seeing shots from her every day.... and will probably sell the lens at the end of the month...

and here is my Soligor next to the 72B:

the Soligor is a 1:1 macro, as is the 72B...

the Soligor is the same lens as the Panagor 90/2.8

and the full extension of the Soligor:

two reasons I bought the Soligor, knowing full-well how good the 72B is:

this copy is mint - when I bought it, I could not find any evidence that the lens had ever been used or even mounted on a camera body....

and

this copy is a rare 'A' model - it has the 'A' setting for the aperture ring, which I've not seen in any other copy of the Soligor (or Elicar or Panagor) 90 macro....

Yours is also the first I see with the A setting. No where (here or manual focus lens forums) have I read about the 90 with the A setting.
