a quick perusal through my flickr and the bursts that stand out are the 21 Limited, the 40 Limited, the Sigma 28 EX DG, and the Sigma 70 EX DG...

the Sigma 28 is for sale, but not that cheap.....

Never thought of this, and you might be right as many Taks' formulas were used on early Ks... I have the Smc tak 55/1.8 - never done a comparison between these two folks,,, adding it to the list of to-do's

Would be an interesting comparison considering the Tak uses a radioactive element.

That's not surprising considering I'm pretty sure they're identical formulas. The only difference is some of the Taks have radioactive doping.

I think both of Pepperberry's Taks have thorium elements. Now the 55/1.8 tak vs K - there you'll get different formulas due to different glass... Looking at the database both the tak and the K are 6/5 designs however.

IIRC the SMC Tak 55 and K55 are identical save for the mount. I have both and can attest they render nearly identically. That is, very nicely indeed

currently only have two Takumars - the 24/3.5 and the 55/1.8; neither of which have been reported as radioactive...

I had a 35/2 that was quite yellowed and I used a UV light to clear it.... I've since sold the lens (but not because of the radioactivity)...

EDIT:

supposedly, the Mamiya 58/1.7 is radioactive, but I've only seen it reported on one site....
