A favorite prime

One of my favorite prime lenses, the Pentax 67 75mm f 2.8. This lens has become way over priced nowadays, but I got semi-affordable copy because of a slight dent in the lens thread, meaning I cannot put a filter on it.

Cap-de-la-Madeleine Basilica. K1 + FA 20 mm f/2.8 @ f/11 + Pixel Shift on tripod.

Using "Pixel Shift" is always a gamble as you never know if a person will step into your picture frame or if someone in the picture will move.

What is the thread size? You can always find a "Clip-on" filter/hood...

It is 67mm. Actually, I have now managed to force fit an Agfa UV filter on the lens, so problem solved. Anyway, it uses a standard P67 67mm square hood PH-SA, so now I am able to use filter, cap, and hood. It actually was only a small dent, so with the Agfa UA filter in place the dent is no longer visible. I only paid $1,100 for the lens, so now with many of these lenses going for up to $2,500 I am feeling fully vindicated. :>)

Great to hear Ivan - I have a much cheaper lens with a bad filter thread (Tak 200/4) got a clip-on hood and solved my issues. I've never shot with filters... well once shooting film with a polarizer to avoid glass reflections.

PS - the day I am allowed to spend an amount barely close to that... I think that it is long ways for now, but I hope I can enjoy it.

Thanks Ed. I waited all day for the clouds to break up, and they did, right at sunset.

What a shot, Paul!
This is what LBS (lens buying syndrome) can do to you. You start wanting another 50mm lens for maybe $75 and you wind up buying Zeiss and Leica lenses for several thousands of dollars each. At least, I can honestly say that I am really not buying any more lenses. I am looking at a few, but definitely not buying them.

it's worse if you start with another camera system that allows you to adapt a wide array of lens mounts and already have a severe case of LBA.... you'll end up with a box full of adapters and all sorts of options to run with....

did I say 'worse'?
