there's been some discussion about the DA* 55 in other threads; I think it's a shame that it seems to get lost when talking about fast-50's

when I was considering buying a DA* 55, I remember asking questions about its durability, SDM issues, etc....

the one thing I remember from all that discussion was that one member of the forum stated that even if the SDM failed in their copy, they would continue using it as a manual focus lens, since the glass was simply that good....

I’m seriously considering saving for this 55. Every image everyone posts with this lens makes me feel I’d be very happy with it. Thanks!
