Garden flowers

The Pentax-D FA 50mm f 2.8 macro is among my sharpest lenses. However, I have unfairly stereotyped as a "documentation" lens, a lens more notable for sharpness and clarity than for character and rendering. That may be true in part as compared to the 31-43-77 troika, but then perfection in clarity and sharpness has a character all of its own. In pennance, now that I have divested myself of the 645N/D/Z, I resolve to use this notable lens more often.

Ivan, try varying your aperture opening a little more, like using f/2.8, f/4 and f/5.6. The DFA 50 mm f/2.8 MACRO peaks @ f/5.6. You might like the result.

Thanks for the sugggestion. I do vary the aperture, but I am fond of shooting this particular lens with the front door wide open!

That D-FA looks good in your hand. Pretty good shots! ---Are they wide open?--- Edit: I forgot to click on the EXIF info...

Ha Ha !! Good one, Ivan ... But as I said, the resolution of this lens peaks at f/5.6, you might like it.

Misty scenes

Two more misty scenes. We are fortunate to have a huge open field across the street from our home. It is owned by a Fortune 500 company, and they keep it immaculately fenced and mowed. It makes a great photographic backdrop, and we see deer, turkey and other wild game from time to time.
