Lens 60-250 dark, I think so , DA 200 2.8 makes a much higher quality picture . I am the owner of these two lenses.

Thanks - now, Im owner of happy owner of DA*200.

Its really nice lens, althought, purple fringing can be really bad in some conditions even on 5.6. But, otherwice, its sharp stopedd down to 3.2 and very sharp in f4-f8 range. Nice

Congratulations! Pentax DA* 200mm/2.8 is a very nice lens, you feel in hand its build quality
I'd call DA* 50-135mm/2.8 bigger than DA* 200mm/2.8 at least with their hoods in the shooting position:
While DA* 200mm/2.8 with hood and K-3 attached fits (vertically) into a Lowepro Stealth Reporter D400 AW camera bag, DA* 50-135mm/2.8 is (with hood and camera body attached) an inch or so too long for that otherwise wonderful bag
What I find I get better sharpness ('pixel to pixel') with 50-135mm/2.8 shots on its 135mm end than with DA* 200mm/2.8 when handheld with shutter speeds 1/180 (flash synchro speed, no HSS). I am simply unable to keep the set of camera + 200mm APS-C lens + flash steady enough

I find purple fringing with every single Pentax zoom when wide open. Might that be a camera sensor fringing at 2.8 rather than the lenses themselves?

Im just learning this lens but I must say that I am completely satisfied with the sharpness. I think that this lens does not deserve the somewhat tarnished reputation. It is amazing and lends still relatively small and lightweight - today I was on the 4-hour photo walk with no problem.

There is two of my first shots:

Purple fringing is in my real shooting way less intrusive that I affraid. But I have another problem - I have problem with shooting mooving subjects with AF-C. I know, that Pentax is not af-c beast, but Im succesfully using it with my other lenses (screwdrive, DC, SDM) but this lens is somewhat resisting me I have better keeper rate with AF-S even on moving targets... Do I only need more practice with this FL, or is there any trick?
