My understanding is that lenses has a lens identification code - it's not the name of the lens but a code. This code is then interpreted into a lens name, by the camera or image editing software. Those codes are only for Pentax lenses, only Pentax lenses has reserved codes for them. Sigma lenses can use a Pentax code or some sort of dummy code... because there must be a code, the space cannot be blank. Third party software, like Lightroom, tries to make it's best guess and matches to a database... but it does not contain all lenses on the market. So errors in lens names with third party lenses is very common yes.
