"Little Brother" lens.

I'm excited for my new-to-me SMC Pentax-F 35-70mm lens to arrive. I have it's Big Brother, the 70-210mm and it's one heck of a lens in it's own right. But, not long ago, while discussing it, it's "little brother" was mentioned and how good it is, also. I read all the reviews and that's all it took for me to begin my search. I found one that looks pretty clean, so now the wait is on. If it's ANYTHING like the 70-210mm, it will have a permanent place in the rotation. That lens is absolutely remarkable!

I have it and it's other big brother the F 35-135. You have the A 70-210 in your sig, but not the F...

I have both, (actually TWO of the A versions) but didn't bother to list all my lenses in my signature.. The A is also a very good lens. I especially like the close-focus mode. A very sharp lens with a lot of 3-D qualities.

It's just as good as the 35-70, but a bit heavy. I do have 3 shots in the PPG. 2 with the K-x and 1 with the K-5.

Better than a little brother is "Twins".....lol. When you have "Twins" at least two Big Brothers are needed for backup...... Notice they are Takumar-F 70-210 versions ?
Just as good as the SMC-F variety and remarkably good ! The 35-70 is one of two lenses I consider a whole "Stack of Primes" !
Good choice and congrats !

OK, so this is the reason why I couldn't find any 70-210 on eBay... there are guys out there who buy them in pairs... . I had to take up with F 70-200 (= the non-smc version)

No Ive had the 210's for a while.
On the other hand I dried up the 35-70's on Ebay for about 5 days getting a good copy.....lol.
They suddenly are becoming in demand again since the FF announcement and talk going on.....gee...I wonder why ?

Another secret is to avoid eBay. Shopgoodwill.com is one of the sources of lenses that are being sold on eBay. Avoid the middle man by bidding on them there. It is a bigger gamble though as the people who work at Goodwill know nothing about cameras or lenses. If there is something wrong with the lens the return policy is basically "Well you can donate it back to us".
