Hee hee ... wonder what size screwmount a jam bottle would be ... and if there's an adaptor available ... LOL

Jay I never thought you would have bought a brand new lens.

Bugger! did I feel a slight LBA dizzy spell as I scrolled down the page just then?

Nice one.

(I didn't know the 55mm could focus that close, I guess that's the reason for it's existence alongside the regular 50mm)

Looks good, looks good..

I have a K55/2, i find my copy a bit soft, didn't have time to test it well though.

If that is from Da* 55, the highlight bokeh is imperfect circle and harsh...

I looking forward to see how this lens performs against others in this focal range in terms of Bokeh.
I'm just wondering if it will have a long focus action like the old 55mm, for excellent accurate manual focusing...
Obviously we'd like it to focus quick in AF too.. Duh! ok I'll shut up now.

Well, That first shot and the dandeliions are crops - the K 55 1.8 can't focus that
close natively. But the detail retained after crop speaks to the resolving power of
the lens.

Do I detect some cranky viewers? Sorry it wasn't really the DA*

Funny part is that this thread is linked on other forums that there is a DA* coming out now. ;D, Suppose they never read the acctual text. It's linked on the biggest photosite in Sweden for example. ;D

Thank God that was just a joke. I litterally did a double scroll when I got to images 2 and 3, the bokeh just hit me like a ton of bricks. My smile turned upside down into a frown. The one dandelion shot made me smile again, then it went back to a frown with the last pic, then a sigh of relief at the end. What an emotional rollercoaster that 30 seconds was. Shame on you Jay!!!!

I feel honored to be able to contribute to all the Pentax Roadmap angst out there!

Buddha - Yeah, let's hope the DA* 55 1.4 is going to keep the bokeh smoother
than the K 55. Anyone know how many aperture blades it's supposed to have?

On the other hand, let's hope the DA* 55 keeps the K's color/contrast/resolution,
while eliminating the PF and softening up the bokeh.

I like the sketchy/watercolor bokeh of some old fifties, some times it adds dynamism to the images.
