Pentax SMC M 50 f/1.7

From what I have read it seems that in AV mode, despite the green button function, a correct exposure might not be achieved.
My question is that if this also happens in M mode or is it more accurate?
I also read in the manual that, contrary to the AV mode, an exposure check is possible in M mode. Can you explain what is this achieved?

Thank you

Well since the lens will be wideopen while you meter with the green button and closed down to whatever aperture your using when you take the picture, the metering will be off.

In Av mode correct exposure will be achieved .....but always using the widest aperture. The camera will select the correct shutter speed. The limitation of Av mode with "K" and M lenses is that it makes no difference what you set the aperture to the camera will meter and capture wide open.

In manual mode it is different.. you press the green button to stop-down the lens and take a meter reading. The camera will them capture using the aperture you select and the shutter speed it selects basis the meter reading.
