I wonder what the economics are of selling EVERYTHING I own (even the KX) and having only the three FA Limiteds and a K-7.
These shots are beautiful!! I guess I better spend some time pricing and thinking.
Better spend some time taking pictures I guess. That said I'm missing the Ltd. lenses, too, but the prices have gone porno I think.

Mickey, I had another thought about what I said and it really looks like I would regard a picture as appealing (i.e. 'good') when it reminds me of those paintings - oh well.

Just curious.

Why is it assumed that an unacceptable photographic image will make a good painting?

Mickey
Mickey, apart from what's already been said, I think sometimes we all need to stretch a bit what an acceptable photographic image is.

This forum is mainly equipment centered, so sharpness, contrast, the usual guidelines about focus, composition, exposure etc are valued - because they help standardize quality assessments.

However, without going whole-Holga , there are 'artistic' or 'impressionistic' aims also in photography - maybe not the best for evaluating lens sharpness - which are good to keep in mind. And yes, some equipment lends itself to this sort of photography better than others.

This is more photo-realistic than impressionistic; still lives of fruit etc are a painterly tradition...

Blues:

Not as colorful as some of those other flower pics, but it's all bokeh-y and paintly.
But maybe it's "cooler."
