I do think it is cool that another third party is releasing a Pentax mount lens, and it looks like one of their reps posted here. Now tell us pricing and if it at least supports A.

Apparently, Zhongyi is the same as Mitakon, so it's unlikely this one will have an 'A' setting (the Nikon mount version shown in the photos doesn't have one either). On the positive side, their other lenses seem to test quite well. An 85/1.2 could be a nice bit of glass to have with the forthcoming Pentax 35FF body...

An A setting? It won't even have an aperture lever. And since the 85/2 is over priced by about $150 this one will be even more over priced.

Since they are making what is essentially a pre-set lens, it would be nice if they would add a stop down ring so that you could at least set the aperture and focus wide open.

Fair comment, but no doubt they've got the attention of the razor-thin DoF enthusiasts.

And people who shoot in low light. And people who like the idea of stopping down to f2.

I gotta say, having a 85 1.2 option on k-mount even at $600 isn't so bad.

Only a $350 difference...

And no aperture automation at all...
