Why would I buy an fa31 if I have the da 20-40?

Is it just lba or do I need the fa 31 to,,, complete my holy trinity collection.

Also, my 20-40 can be my outdoor lens, water resistant and all that. And the 31 can be my fast indoor lens.

Does the 31 really deliver a real advantage over my 20-40?

LBA is definitely at work. Yes, the FA31 will deliver advantages the zoom can't match. Your scheme is plausible (but it would be a shame to keep the Ltd away from the great outdoors.) All you need is courage and cash. ;~)

If you think it will, then it definitely will... As long as you have faith in the magic of the 31mm!

I have DA 21, DA 35/2.8, and FA 43 (just sold DA 40 XS), and I thought I will never need 20-40. I bought it. Then I thought I had 20-40, and all these lenses, so I won't need 31 (forgot to mention I have Sigma Art 30/1.4). Now I have 31 side by side with these lenses. :-)

I have the DA*16-50 and FA 31. I've thought the same question as you. The 31 really is a special lens. The 16-50 cannot replace it and neither can the DA 20-40 IMHO. But I use and admire both.

Think of the thousands of pixies who are sacrificed to make the Holy Trinity.

The other way works: why would you buy the DA20-40 if you already have the FA31?

Heck, I have the Sigma 18-35 and now I have the FA31 on the way....but the full frame annoucement had a lot to do with that.

No NO - they're not sacrificed. Sure, kidnapped, separated from their fellow pixies and pixie families, forced to work like tiny slaves - but we're not barbarians. We don't have tall blonde women in white robes chanting lamentations while we burn incense in the factory and call on Photonis before raising a curved sword . . . . . we don't SACRIFICE the poor little things.

I have the 16-50, 20-40 and the trinity. The 20-40 is sharper than the 16-20 and the 31 is sharper than all of them. You need it too......

Quite the contrary, we do our utmost to find them suitable placements where they reach their full potential.

Pixie Dust is made from Pixies. Just like Soylent Green is made from people
