FA 77mm Limited - that's sharp!

My 77mm/1.8 hadn't seen much use but when our cacti stated blooming this spring I put it to use. I'm stunned, that's a sharp piece of equipment! I'm definitely going to use it regularly now! And it is so compact that it is easy to haul along!

This is a "100% crop", that is I have cropped but not reduced resolution. The only detrimental factor is the conversion from raw to jpg in Photoshop, so a few jpg artifacts are visible here and there.

Wow, that is absolutely awesome!

I've been somewhat considering perhaps a prime as my next purchase on down the road, and you posting something like this certainly helps. Very nice output!

-----------------
As far as JPEGs are concerned - if you keep quality at around "10-12" and/or around 80-100% in Photoshop, it would take an extreme pixel peeper at 200% to notice any JPEG artifacts.

Thanks Ole. Great capture. Lovely backlighting, and it's not so easy to control exposure. And I sometimes think I need to put gloves on when I shoot with the 77, it's that sharp!

You're not trying to tell us that a cactus is sharp, are you?

Lovely image and not only because of the sharpness. Exposure just right to get the blossom details. That is not always so easy.
