Sorry Dude...I need them. During my shoots I rotate two and always keep another backup. The K10D's will still get some use as well.

In My Bag most days

It varies from day-to-day. I've got a lot of stuff but the gear that normally goes out the door in my old Photima bag is:

Pentax K10, Battery Grip D-BG1
K 200 f 2.5
K 24 f 2.8
M 50 1.4
M 35 f 2
A 100 f 2.8 macro
M 150 f 3.5
DA 70mm f 2.4
AF 360 FGZ flash

This normally covers the bulk of thigs I might encounter. A lot of really good old manual focus glass. I hope to add a few "limiteds" and hopefully the DA* 300mm some day.

=======

Gathering dust for the most part:

Pentax K 300 f 4
M 200 f 4
K 135 f 3.5
M 50 f 4 macro
M 28 f 2.8
M 75~150 f 4 zoom
M 80~200 f 4.5 zoom
Pentax auto bellows M
Pentax T6 2x Rear Converter
Refconverter M
Magnifyer M

Pentax MX, winder, - and all the focusing screens
Pentax K2

Cheers

Tom G

Currently, I have no bag...yet. I've gotten rid of all my bags because none were right for me. I do have another bag coming; hopefully I'll get it sometime next week as it's been on backorder with Adorama and I can't wait to get it.

Into the Tenba Shootout Mini backpack that's coming will go:
K10D
Sigma 17-70
DA 55-300
A100/4 macro
DA35 macro
Sunpak 383 Super flash
extra battery for the K10D
an assortment of filters

Depending on where I'm going, I'll take either the Bogen 3001 tripod or the Bogen/Manfrotto 680 monopod, along with the B/M 486rc2 ballhead, which will attach to the back of the backpack.

What I want to eventually add to said bag...
Sigma 10-20
DA21
DA70
possibly a FA50/1.4 or 1.7
possibly a 1.5x TC

My next purchase will probably be a smaller bag for when I don't want to carry everything around. It'll be along the lines of a Crumpler $5 million home bag.

Got one backpack and one small bag, using the small bag more as I focus on prime lens.

For small bag (my canon camcorder bag):
K10D
FA 77/1.8 or DFA 100 macro
FA 35/2
FA50/1.4 or K 50/1.2

For Pentax K backpack:
K10D
DA 16-45/4
DFA 100 macro
K 50/1.2
FA 35/2

Looking forward to get 14/2.8 or 12-24mm... maybe a 300mm too... someday...

MX Screens - Seamuis

Seamuis,

Not willing to part with them at this time.

Just took a look and I have six of the nine MX screens. These are the MX screens not the LX versions. I understand they are similar and interchangeable but the LX variants are said to have a different coating (Clear Brite). This evidently has a small effect on exposure if the LX screen is used in an MX.

SC1 – matte field and split image spot with microprisim collar. This one came with the camera. The standard screen for use with lenses less then or equal to 300mm.

SA 1 – matte field and microprisim spot. I use this for telephotos. Eliminated the blackout effect one gets with the standard screen..

SE – matte filed only. Recommended for use with lenses slower than f/5.6.

SG – matte field and cross hairs.

SA3 – Microprisim field only.

SD1 – Central cross hairs on clear glass screen. For microscopy and ultra close-ups.

Missing the SI – matte field and scales, SB – matte field and split image spot, and SD central cross hairs and clear glass. Never felt the need for these.

You are probably aware of this link

Pentax LX - Info on Various Focusing Screens

which describes the LX /MX screens.

Cheers

I have a couple big bags, but I always just travel or walk around with my smaller bag carrying one of three basic kits:

M-club! kit (can fit a lot of the smaller Ms in one smallish bag, I love it)
-------------
K20D + M 85 f2 attached
M 28 2.8
M 50 1.4
M 135 3.5
M 200 f4

Super Tak kit
-----------------
K20D + SMC takumar 50 1.4 attached
S-M-C takumar 135 3.5
S-M-C takumar 200 4

AF/general travel/event kit
----------------------------------
K20D + DA* 16-50 attached
DA* 50-135
macro lens (35, 50 or Viv 105) -or- Tammy 70-300

Sometimes I'll swap in a different manual, 77ltd or one of the FA 50's here or there.

Lately I've been having the most fun with my M bag.

Depends on what I am going to shoot I choose the relevant lenses from my signature.
I use a Tamrac Velocity 7x slingshot backpack, which can take up to six small lenses (incuding the one on the camera). I used to go out with my Lowerpro Slingshot AW 200 but I much prefer the Tamrac for city shooting.

That "IS" my shining star..."Shoe Shining Star" that is. I wrap a cloth around it to get in to those tough edges that you want to keep your fingers away from, you know, when you walk on "IT" on the street by accident..

Laurie, if you are willing to swap a wedding for a lens, you're heart's in the right place

As for a wide angle, if you're going for a zoom and want something that will probably be awesome, wait for Tokina to issue their 11-16mm f/2.8 in Pentax mount. Although I'm half hoping that Pentax will release it as a DA* encarnation.

I have two bags, one big, one slightly smaller. I bring what I think I'll need.

No bag: Bottom of my trusty knapsack: K10D with either (now) 18-55 kit lens or (soon to come) Sigma 17-70

Minimalist/Travel kit:
Pentax DS, Pentax FA 20-35; Pentax A 35-105, Pentax A 70-210. Small bag

Larger Travel Kit:
K10D, 540 Flash, Above lenses, plus Pentax FA 43 ltd for low light stuff, small travel tripod.

Wide Angle Landscape Kit:
Pentax DA 12-24, FA 77ltd, K 135 F2.5, Zenitar 16mm Fisheye, Tamron 28-75 F2.8 and maybe Pentax A 70-210 if I think I'll need lots of reach. Trek pod monopod if hiking and possibly the Bogen/Manfrotto 055BPro if no hiking (that sucker be heavy)

Low light "Club" kit
Pentax FA 20mm F2.0; Sigma 24mm F1.8; Pentax K 50mm F1.2 and possible the FA 77 F1.9 ltd. Trek pod monopod

General walk around Kit
Pentax 43mm ltd, Tamron 90mm macro; Tamron 28-75 zoom; Zenitar 16mm fisheye; and either the Pentax A 70-210 or the Pentax K 135 F2.5. I usually add the Pentax 18-55 kit lens (soon to be replaced by the Sigma 17-70). If I'm feeling robust I'll add the 77mm ltd. All this requires the big bag.

Special lenses etc: Pentax K 300mm F4.0 (I rarely go real long but it's nice to have) I have two "Fast 50's" the above mentioned 1.2 and the FA 1.4, I should sell one but I hate to sell lenses. My DA 12-24 used to be a "speciality lens" but I've found myself bringing it along more and more. I've stuck it inside a lowepro lens case that velcro's to my belt. I've also got the Sigma 500DG Super Flash, but it doesn't have a chip upgrade so I can only use it with my DS.

I just counted up, YIKES! I've now got 15! lenses.

NaCl(I don't have a problem with LBA, my bank account has a problem with LBA!)H2O

Hey Ben, I'm surprised there's not a fisheye in there somewhere. You's probably knock our socks off if you could find a way to incorporate that FE distortion into your shooting..
