1 stop at 70mm I think. You need more the speed at 70mm and the difference is greater.

It is one stop difference only from 65mm to 70mm. Remember that the f5.6 is not on the same range, the 16-85mm reaches farther.

In the end the 2 lenses remains quite similar with things a bit better for the 17-70 in some case a few more things a bit better for the 16-85... maybe not enough of a reason to upgrade.

I hope that the awfully bad colour balance is your fault and not the lens ...

Because you have a lot of lenses that have a colour balance option? You must have some interesting lenses.

Or is that your excuse when your colour balance is off? The lens did it.
