I see in the lens road map a D FA large diameter standard zoom, which more than likely means a 2.8 aperture. Pull out your crystal balls pontificate as to how likely we will see such an animal in 2015. While I'm dreaming lets make it a D FA* 24-70, or at least WR.

I have been eyeballing the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM , as I really like my 50-150 with the HSM motor, but would like a weather sealed lens in a walk around focal length.

Not sure why you are dreaming? It will be released with the FF camera October / November 2015.

They need to release a prosumer kit lens for the FF so one is bound to come out.

You don't even have to dream, it's highly likely that it'll be pretty much that. WR is self-evident, all DA* have it, all decent f/2.8 Pentax zoom lenses have it, the new D FA* 70-200 and D FA* 150-450 have it. It would be a huge surprise if the 20ish-70 would not be WR, or, more precisely, AW. As for the focal length, 24-70 is pretty much the established standard for prosumer FF zooms.

Pretty sure it's going to be in that 24-70 range and be WR, because if they don't make it WR, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot.

I'll pontificate that a lens like a 24-70 2.8 (or maybe 24-120 f4) is guaranteed to be released with the FF. There's little chance of a new FF camera succeeding without a standard zoom to go with it. I expect WR and construction like the new 70-200 and 150-400.

I also expect an ultrawide zoom or maybe some wide primes, but that might come at a later date.
